When I first dropped this Creamore Velvet Flow basket into my 58mm portafilter, the heavy duty build quality immediately stood out to me. Finding a precision basket that is specifically tuned to maximize the characteristics of oilier, traditional dark roasts can be tough, but this slow flow design manages it perfectly.
Here is what I found after spending some time with it:
- The slow flow advantage: The hole restriction on this basket is incredibly smart. I found that the calibrated layout creates just enough natural back pressure to slow down the extraction rate, which completely prevents the fast, watery gushing that often ruins dark roast profiles. It coaxes out a wonderfully thick, syrupy texture.
- What I liked: The crema production is exceptional. I noticed right away that the controlled flow resistance allows the water to fully emulsify the coffee oils, resulting in a dense, long lasting velvet crema layer that adds a fantastic mouthfeel to every double shot.
- The basket profile: Going with a ridgeless design is a massive plus for maintenance. I found that without an interior ridge ring, untamped coffee grounds cannot get trapped along the sidewalls, which ensures a completely uniform tamp and makes popping the basket out for a quick wipe down effortless.
The Verdict:
- I think it is a brilliant, highly specialized upgrade for traditional espresso lovers, offering the exact flow control and premium stainless steel build needed to pull incredibly rich, heavy bodied shots on any standard commercial style machine.

✅ Key Insights and Honest Takeaways
Creamore produced a well-made espresso filter basket that fit my Breville Oracle Touch perfectly. It did require a little dialing in to find the right grind setting, but once adjusted it produced a very good espresso with consistent results. I experienced a little channeling and occasional spattering during the initial setup, but after making a few adjustments the extractions improved noticeably.
⚡ Quick Overview
• 58mm espresso filter basket
• Designed for 18-21g coffee doses
• 0.30mm micro-perforation design
• 556 precision holes
• Stainless steel construction
• Compatible with 58mm portafilters
🛠️ Build and Quality
The stainless steel has a quality feel with a smooth finish and clean machining. The basket slides easily into and out of the portafilter without binding, and the fit in my Breville Oracle Touch was excellent. It also cleaned up easily after use, and the spent coffee puck released without sticking.
🔍 Real-World Use
Using this basket was straightforward once I adjusted my grind to match it. The Oracle Touch dispenses about 18 grams automatically, making this basket a natural fit for that workflow. I did notice a little channeling and occasional spattering while dialing everything in, but those issues became much less noticeable after fine-tuning the grind. The resulting espresso had good extraction and made an enjoyable cup.
⭐ What Works Well
• Fits the Breville Oracle Touch perfectly
• Excellent match for an 18g dose
• Quality stainless steel construction
• Easy to clean after use
• Coffee puck releases cleanly
• Smooth insertion and removal from the portafilter
• Produces good extractions once properly dialed in
⚠️ Things to Consider
• May require grind adjustments when switching from another basket
• Some channeling can occur until properly dialed in
• Occasional spattering is still possible during extraction
• The “Velvet Flow” extraction characteristics are uncertain in difference for me
⚖️ Overall Value
This feels like a strong value for its apparent price tier. The machining, fit, ease of cleaning, and consistent performance make it a worthwhile replacement or backup basket. While it does require a little setup and dialing in, the overall quality and results justify the cost.
📍 Final Thoughts
This is a well-built espresso basket that performed well in my Breville Oracle Touch. After a few adjustments to my grind, it consistently produced good espresso, cleaned up easily, and fit exactly as expected. It may not completely eliminate channeling or spattering, but those are common variables in espresso preparation. Overall, it’s a solid replacement or spare basket that delivers reliable performance.

This Creamore Velvet Flow 58mm filter basket fit both my spouted and bottomless portafilters perfectly. The strange part for me, though, was that despite seemingly fitting perfectly, my spouted portafilter became too tight to lock into the machine, while the bottomless one locked in just fine. I think, in that respect, there's a chance your mileage may vary depending on your portafilter. Perhaps the rim sits a little too high or is slightly too thick—I can't really tell—but I'm glad it still works with the portafilter I use most often.
As for quality, the craftsmanship looks great. It's very much a solid and functional portafilter basket capable of holding a little more than the 18g of grounds I'm used to, as I noticed the inner shape is slightly more vertical than some of the smaller 16–18g baskets I have. Definitely nice to be able to pull a full double shot with 21g now. It pulls shots perfectly with the right beans and grind size, I'd say.
Value-wise, at roughly $15 at the time of writing, I think it's a pretty fair value. I have no complaints and think it's a good option if you don't already have a larger basket or simply want one that can handle a bit more coffee.

Great addition to my Ranchilio Silvia maker. I use the bottomless filter but wanted a bigger basket and this definitely doesn’t disappoint. Coffee flows out with that delicious almost chocolate looking creama. I did need to adjust my grind to my espresso grinder, so don’t think this is a put coffee in and pull a shot. You need to adjust the grind to tune it perfectly. Great buy, well made and coffee on my fellow barista’s
