A tamp is the one step in your espresso routine you cannot measure. Grind size has numbers, dose has a scale, shot time has a timer — but tamping pressure lives in your wrist, and it changes when you are tired, in a hurry, or holding the portafilter at a slightly different angle.

PULSE PRESS takes that variable off the table. Rest the base flat on the basket rim and press straight down until you hear the click: that is a calibrated 25lb strike, the same force it delivered yesterday and the same force it will deliver next year.

Compatibility

53.3mm fits 54mm Breville and Sage baskets. Size matters more than brand here — a tamper that runs small leaves an uncompressed ring of grounds at the basket edge. For standard 58mm portafilters, choose the 58.5mm version instead.

Good to know

This is a tamper, not a distributor: it levels and compresses but does not break up clumps. Distribute first (WDT or our GRAVITY-FLOAT magnetic distributor), then one press. Wipe the base after use and keep the walnut handle out of the dishwasher.
